The Founder
Eric Seiz spent half of his adult life exploring creative ways to celebrate the lives of others. First, with Special Love Songs, a custom song-writing business that “tells your story through a song,” creating one-of-a-kind songs for weddings, anniversaries, and milestone birthdays. Then, inspired by his wife’s pregnancy of their two children, Womb Beats was born. Womb Beats is a mobile app that helps expectant parents chronicle and share their pregnancy journey, one-beat-at-a-time by syncing music to your baby’s fetal heartbeat by the touch of a button, then combining the music with a picture slideshow featuring your pregnancy journey. Eric also enjoyed directing and filming videos for his wife, Karen’s YouTube channel featuring glamour in the beginning, and soon evolving into a fitness page. It was through filming these videos that he developed a passion for lighting, camera angles and telling a story through the lens. Eric could listen to stories all day and has been told often that he has the patience of a saint.
Joe’s Story
It was a typical afternoon when Eric received a phone call from his father-in-law, Joe. “Eric, I want you to bring your video gear over next week and record some important messages and memories that I want to leave behind for my family one day.” It wasn’t unusual to receive random phone calls from Joe with impulsive ideas, as Joe was a Vietnam veteran who suffered from PTSD as well as many other physical and mental ailments. One of those struggles was that Joe never got to know his biological mother because she had passed away when he was barely a year old. Joe also had concerns with being forgotten once he’s gone…it’s something he had mentioned multiple times. Then, the unthinkable happened…Joe unfortunately passed away unexpectedly and we never had a chance to film his video. It left Eric wondering…what did he want to tell us? What wisdom and stories could he have shared with us had we planned to get together sooner to create his video? Eric formed Ridge Legacy Films in hopes that no one else would suffer with similar regrets. “It’s been so rewarding to hear my client’s stories while filming their legacy videos,” says Eric. “I’m very fortunate to have the opportunity to gain their knowledge as they share their wisdom.”
